Putting digital in your DNA

 
 

Banks need leadership with digital DNA and technology in their blood, says Chris Skinner, a bestselling author and an independent commentator on the financial markets through his blog The Finanser.

In a sit-down with us at the Money 20/20 conference, Chris said that embracing digital is not about technology – like mobile apps, blockchain proof of concepts or artificial intelligence – it’s about culture.

“The leadership team has to be completely committed to digital transformation as a structural change,” Chris says. “Think like a startup – that is focusing on customers, innovating, destroying all the rules that are stupid, and becoming much more agile. If you can’t build a culture and put digital in the DNA of a bank, you’ll never be successful.”
